Pretty Pinafore
Every little girl back in the 1800's had a pinafore. Since most folks didn't have the money to have several dresses, they used Pinafore's to dress up the ones they had. This cute little pinafore is made from an eyelet border fabric and eyelet lace as shoulder straps. Fabrics used may vary from this picture.

This long sleeve dress features a "button front" placket with a band collar and is a typical style of the 1840's. Fabric print may vary but the coloring will be similar. Pantalettes
Did you know that back in the 1840's, underwear were not a common thing to wear. Girls and ladies wore what were called Pantalettes and they were basically decorative pieces of fabric tied just above the knee and made to show below the hem of the dress. These pantaletts of course, are one piece and trimmed in eyelet.

Gerda, The Little Dutch Girl
When I was a little girl, the only Halloween costume I ever got to have and wore year after year was my mother's Dutch outfit she brought over with her when she immigrated with my dad and 4  of my siblings. Given that I was only a child and the outfit was for an adult, I hated wearing it , pinned up and all but as I look back now, I would love to have that costume back. It's long been gone but the memories have never faded. This one is dedicated to my mom who passed away in 2001. This outfit comes complete with the skirt, apron, shirt, lace hat, necklace and even the wooden shoes.

Fiesta Time #1
Many years ago, I went with my Dad to Mexico. He was looking for lamps and I was looking for a "Camisa". This one, just like the one I bought in Mexico is embroidered with little flowers and has a drawstring neck. The Skirt is made from beautiful purple linen and the sash is from a brightly colored flannel. How cute is this ensemble?
