Welcome to my doll house.
Scroll down for details on each of the rooms.
Each cube is 30" deep and 30" wide and 24" high.
My cubes are made from particle board. One hint for painting particle board, it is best to use OIL based primer. That way, the particle board won't warp and splinter. After you prime it, then you can use water based paint.
If you have any questions that I've not addressed below, feel free to send me a message from the Comment box on the home page.

The Bathroom:
*The floor is real tile *The toilet is a dog water bowl. It came in a light yellow but I spray painted it white. *The bathtub is from Our Generation. I spray painted it white and hand painted the feet and faucet gold then put antique stain over that. *The vanity is made from two drawer units I bought at JoAnn's. The counter is a plaque that I spray painted with texture paint. My friend made the sink and faucet from polymer clay. *The shelves above the toilet is made from foam core with a wood trim hot glued over the edges. I painted the trim the same color as the bathtub faucet and feet. *The towel bars are drawer pulls. *The toilet paper is a straw cut to size then slit and put over a drawer pull. I then cut real toilet paper to size and rolled it onto the straw. |

The Bedroom:
*I used a shaggy fur as carpet in this room. I thought it went well with the fabrics I chose for the bedding. *The dresser is a 4 drawer unit from Hobby Lobby that I painted black. *The mirror is from Hobby Lobby. It was already pink but I put a stain over the top to give it more dimension. *The picture board is made from foam core, ribbon and fabric. *The chandelier is made from cat food cans and an empty tea light. Click here for a tutorial on how to make this. *The headboard for the bed is a piece of garden fencing. The frame of the bed is made from foam core. It opens up for storage. |
The Living Room:
*The frame of the furniture is made from foam core. It's basically just pieces hot glued together then I covered it with fluff and fabric.
*The table is a small wood plaque from Hobby Lobby. For the legs, I used a dowel that I cut into pieces. I hot glued it all together then painted it black.
*The lamp is a night light or small desk lamp from Hobby Lobby.
*The photo frame on the table is from Hobby Lobby. The photo frames on the wall are scrapbook frames. I don't know the source.
*The floor is laminate tile.
*The rug is a placemat.
*The plant stand in the corner is a candle holder. The "Tree" is two pieces of greenery glued together for height then put in a tiny clay pot.
*The fireplace is real tile. It's one 12x12 sheet that I cute the bottom center out. I glued it to the wall then put grout over the top to fill in the gaps. For the threshold, I used the leftover pieces of tile that I cut from the center and stacked them like stairs. I grouted over those as well. I took a picture of a fire and placed it inside the cut out tiles for ambiance. The mantel is a wood shelf from Hobby Lobby. I had to cut the back of this off because it was too deep.
*The TV is a picture of my own TV that I mounted onto foam core. I colored the edges of the foam core with a black magic marker .
*The window is a picture of the Salt Lake Valley under a piece of glass. I got the glass from an old frame that I wasn't using anymore. I hot glued the side and bottom edges of the glass onto the wall and slid the picture in from the top.

The Kitchen:
*The floor is real tile *The wainscotting is from Home Depot. It comes in 4' planks that were cut to size and painted. I added trim to the top of the wainscotting to hide the unfinished edges. *The cabinets are from hobby Lobby that I installed on the ceiling. I had to sand the edges of the trim to get them flush with each other. *The pantry shelves are made from foam core. There is a trim that I painted white hot glued over the edges of the foam core. *The stove/oven and sink/dishwasher/fridge are two separate pieces from "Necessary Extras" |
The Roof Top Deck:
*The patio is made from small decorative rocks normally used in flower vases. I put grout on the bare wood then spread the rocks over the top of the grout.
*The fire pit is a basket I found at Hobby Lobby. I think it's a candle holder.
*The "grass" is from an online party supply store.
*The hammock is from the Best Friends Collection at Walmart that I spray painted and made a new sling.
*The mural was painted by my friend.
